EU-CORD is a network of European Christian organisations working in Relief and Development, formed in 1998 and with a secretariat based in Brussels.

Through mutual cooperation we aim to make a significant and recognisable contribution towards the eradication of poverty and social exclusion, and to enable the voice of people living in poverty to be heard.

The purpose of EU-CORD is threefold:

  1. Improve members’ practise and capacity by facilitating knowledge sharing, mutual learning and joint innovation
  2. Improve members’ and their local partners’ success rate with funding proposals to the EC and other international donors
  3. Achieve change in EU development and humanitarian aid policies so that they respond better to the needs of people living in poverty and affected by disasters.

EU-CORD has two members with people with disabilities as a target group, and other members are working to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities in their projects in a large range of sectors including Education, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education ad Training) and HIV&AIDS.

Disability is also a cross cutting issue through all of EU-CORD’s advocacy themes, and EU-CORD is proud to actively participate in IDDC to ensure the UN Convention is ratified and implemented within the EU’s development cooperation work.
