IDDC organises Disability Networking Zone and panel sessions at ICASA 2011
Addis Ababa, 4 - 8 December 2011

Our IDDC HIV&AIDS and Disability Task Group has managed to secure a Disability Networking Zone at the Community Village at ICASA, taking place in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) from 4 - 8 December 2011. A similar initiative was undertaken last year at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna.

Our input to the International AIDS Conference in July 2010 resulted in a full programme focusing on the intersection between disability and HIV, through presentations, debates, documentaries and testimonies. Many participants from different backgrounds, fields and countries participated and contributed to a vibrant Disability Zone. At ICASA 2011 we are aiming at replicating this success with your great participation and involvement so get in touch with us if you are interested in contributing.

As part of the programme, IDDC will also lead on two non-abstracts driven sessions on HIV and disability:

  1. 'Disability in HIV programming and policy under the leadership programme'
  2. 'Disability and HIV in Africa under the community programme'
