The Global Commission on HIV and the Law are launch their final report on 9 July with a Global Dialogue: 'Bringing the Law Closer to People'. This two-hour interactive debate will be moderated by Zeinab Badawi of the BBC. It will focus on how the law can be used to effectively protect and promote the rights of people living with HIV and how this can advance health, development and human rights goals.

Making Development Inclusive: Policy input series Making progress towards inclusive social protection schemes

On 6 June 2012, IDDC attended the roundtable titled 'Social Protection in Development Cooperation: Towards Inclusive Growth' hosted by the European Parliament. This summit brought together different actors in the field of development as they discussed the current direction of social protection strategies. The roundtable involved development leaders, civil society representatives, and participants active in the field of development.

Making Development Inclusive: Policy input series European consultation starts shaping the post-2015 framework

On 24 - 25 May 2012 in Brussels (Belgium) IDDC members participated in a European seminar on the post-2015 framework. The event The World We Want Beyond-2015 was one of the first meetings of the Beyond-2015 Campaign at which the discussions on the processes for developing the framework and the different options for what the framework might look like were beginning to take place.

Fund of £1 million for innovative solutions to development problems Deadline for applications: 30 June 2012

IDDC member Sightsavers launched an Innovation Fund with £1 million offered for innovative solutions to development problems. This fund is calling for innovative approaches which illustrate a way to overcome barriers in the promotion of eye health, inclusive education and social inclusion. Winning initiatives will receive up to £75,000 each to implement the suggested proposal over 18 months. The learning from these projects will be shared widely within the development sector as well as being used to inform Sightsavers’ own programmes.
