During the European Microfinance Week 2009, which took place from  24 - 26 November in Luxembourg, IDDC's Livelihood Task Group and partners launched the Microfinance for all Alliance. The main objective of this alliance is to facilitate contacts between microfinance and disability actors and to develop partnerships where possible.

IDDC's Livelihood Task Group is an active member of the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP), the organisers of the European Microfinance Week. This year's event brought together about 300 participants and created good opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The meeting focused on 'Microfinance in a new financial era' and reviewed the impact of the global credit crisis on financial delivery to poor and low-income citizens of developing countries. Representatives of the Livelihood Task Group held a presentation on inclusive microfinance.
