Sightsavers in brief

Sightsavers logo © Sightsavers

Sightsavers works to combat blindness in developing countries, restoring sight through specialist treatment and eye care. We also work to promote equality of opportunity for disabled people. We help the people who need it most - those living in poverty in some of the world's poorest countries.

Sightsavers works with local partner organisations in the least-served communities to help establish and support long-term projects and advocate around the issues of health and education. Together we have restored sight to over 5 million people and treated over 100 million others for potentially blinding conditions. In 20 minutes and with £17 someone’s sight can be restored through a simple cataract operation.
