Co-sign the IDDC and IDA statement for the High-Level Meeting on the prevention and control of NCDs and the promotion of mental health and well-being

On the 25 September 2025, Heads of State and governments will meet in New York for the high-level meeting (HLM) on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and the promotion of mental health and well -being.

Throughout the process leading up to the HLM, the IDDC Inclusive Health Task Group and the International Disability Alliance have been advocating to ensure the political declaration that will be adopted in New York recognises the heightened risks of NCDs for persons with disabilities, and includes clear commitments to promote disability inclusion in all action on NCDs and mental health and psychosocial well-being, in line with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Ahead of the meeting at the end of September, IDDC and IDA have developed this statement to inform discussions and to call for sustained political commitment and robust accountability to ensure commitments translate into inclusive and equitable action for persons with disabilities going forward.

We are inviting organisations to add their names as co-signatories of the statement by filling out this form before Thursday 18 September.

We will re-publish the statement with the full list of co-signatories ahead of the HLM and share widely.
