\nof people with disabilities in poorer countries better.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”263″]The European Union gave the money for this project.<\/p>\n

Many organisations from Europe and all over the world
\nwork together to make this project happen.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”251″]We want to make things better for people with disabilities
\nwho live in poorer countries.
\nFor example, in South America, in Africa or somewhere else.<\/p>\n

So \u2018Bridging the Gap\u2019 is a European project,
\nbut it mostly tries to help people with disabilities
\nin poorer countries outside Europe.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img]The project has two parts:[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”262″]The first part of the project is called ‘Bridging the Gap 1\u2019.<\/p>\n

‘Bridging the Gap 1’ tries to find ways to make
\nthe Sustainable Development Goals happen
\nand help people with disabilities have better lives.<\/p>\n

Countries should listen to people with disabilities
\nand their organisations to make things better.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”212″]The second part of the project is called ‘Bridging the Gap 2’.<\/p>\n

‘Bridging the Gap 2’ also tries to make things better
\nfor people with disabilities in poorer countries.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”259″]We try to explain people who take decisions in these countries
\nthat they should not forget people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

We want them to understand the needs of people with disabilities
\nand work to make things better for them.<\/p>\n

This means that people who take decisions should listen
\nto people with disabilities and their organisations.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”229″]We ask people who take decisions in these countries
\nto support children with disabilities in going to school
\nand learning new things.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”226″]They should also support people with disabilities
\nwho are sick and need to go to the hospital to get well.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”213″]We also try to bring together
\norganisations of people with disabilities and other organisations
\nwho also want to make things better in these countries.<\/p>\n

Together we can work better than each of us alone.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”244″]We want to see the CRPD and Agenda 2030 happen in these countries
\nand help people with disabilities who live there.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”233″]We believe that no one should be left behind.
\nPeople with disabilities should have more opportunities[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”243″]We think that organisations of people with disabilities
\nand other organisations working in poorer countries
\nshould work together.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”224″]\u2018Bridging the Gap 2\u2019 tries to make this happen.
