Many countries decided to implement lockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>This means that people were not allowed to leave their home.<\/p>\n<p>The disease and the lockdowns have had very hard consequences on the lives of persons with disabilities and on their rights.[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;381&#8243;]7 organisations have decided to work together:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IDDC<\/li>\n<li>The Validity Foundation \u2013 Mental Disability Advocacy Centre<\/li>\n<li>The European Network on Independent Living<\/li>\n<li>The International Disability Alliance<\/li>\n<li>Disability Rights International<\/li>\n<li>The Disability Rights Unit at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria<\/li>\n<li>The Disability Rights Fund and the Disability Rights Advocacy Fund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;379&#8243;]Together we created the COVID-19 Disability Rights Monitor.<\/p>\n<p>With this programme, we asked persons with disabilities how they felt during the lockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>We also asked governments what they did to make sure that the rights of persons with disabilities were respected.<\/p>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;380&#8243;]We asked our questions by using 2 surveys.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;382&#8243;]These surveys were important to know all the problems<br \/>\nthat persons with disabilities faced during the COVID pandemic.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;378&#8243;]The results of the surveys showed how many countries<br \/>\nhave protected the rights of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;240&#8243;]<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iddcconsortium.net\/our-work\/our-projects\/covid-19-disability-rights-monitor\/global-report\/\">You can see the results by clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/apus_text_img][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column][apus_text_img block_icone=&#8221;377&#8243;]The Coronavirus is a virus that appeared in 2019, we call it COVID-19.
