It spread easily between people and all around the world, we call it a pandemic.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 affected many the people, especially people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Lot of people got very sick, hospitals were full and there was no cure.<\/p>\n

Many countries decided to have lockdowns. This means that people were not allowed to leave their home.<\/p>\n

The disease and the lockdowns have made the lives of persons with disabilities much harder and affected their rights.<\/p>\n

[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”393″]In 2021, some organisations of persons with disabilities, United Nations agencies
\nand civil society organisations created a plan to help people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

[\/apus_text_img][apus_text_img block_icone=”395″]The plan was called the UNPRD COVID-19 Programme.<\/p>\n

UNPRPD stands for United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.<\/p>\n

The UNPRPD is now called the Global Disability Fund.<\/p>\n
