Opening of the European Disability and Development Week 2019
IDDC and the European Commission are pleased to invite you to a drink reception to launch the photo exhibition “Together for Inclusion! #EDDW19”, marking the opening of the 2019 European Disability and Development Week.
Hosted by Henriette Geiger, Director for People and Peace at European Commission Directorate General for Development Cooperation.
The exhibition Together for Inclusion! #EDDW19 presents photographs of children, women and men with disabilities in low and middle income countries who have broken down some barriers to enjoy their rights to work, education, health, culture, leisure, friendship…
Without the full participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society, no sustainable development is possible.
The European Disability and Development Week is an annual series of events throughout Europe to celebrate the International Day of the Rights of Person with Disabilities, on December 3rd, and the International Day of Human Rights, on December 10th. See the full #EDDW19 programme attached, and constantly updated here: https://iddcconsortium.net/events/european-disability-development-week-2019
It is organised by IDDC, a global consortium of disability and development non-governmental organisations (NGOs), mainstream development NGOs and representative organisations of persons with disabilities (DPOs) promoting rights-based disability-inclusive development and humanitarian action.
