The European Disability Forum (EDF) and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) are delighted to announce a webinar which aims to explore how the global Financing for Development agenda and the new European budget when it comes to persons with disabilities and the implementation of the SDGs. international cooperation.
Speakers and content
We are delighted to welcome three experts in the field:
- Elizabeth Lockwood, CBM representative to the United Nations
- Alejandro Moledo, EDF Policy coordinator
- A representative from the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO, name TBC)
While leaders of the world agreed on ambitious and universal sustainable development goals in 2015, finding the finances to reach these goals remains a challenge. Financing for development (FfD) covers many different public and private, domestic and international financial flows, which includes domestic fiscal revenues, public development aid, remittances, foreign direct investment and external debt. The work done around FfD must be linked to the new European budget, to ensure persons with disabilities in the SDGs implementation are not left behind.
Join this exciting webinar where you will hear from experts on current global and European FfD. Find out how this is currently being utilized to uphold the rights of persons with disabilities (on both a global and European level) and where urgent action by global leaders and governments is required.
IDDC and EDF invite organisations of persons with disabilities (DPOs/OPDs) as well as the disability movement, other stakeholders and members of the public interested by this topic to join us.
Live captioning will be made available and a script of the content will be provided within days after the webinar for those who cannot join on the day.
