Letter to the EU Foreign Affairs Council

On 7 April 2020, the IDDC European Union Task Group addressed a letter to the members of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (Development) ahead of their video conference on 8 April 2020. The letter calls for a disability-inclusive EU development cooperation response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it is very likely that persons with disabilities in middle-income and least developed countries will be disproportionately affected by the pandemic itself, but are also at risk of being excluded from short- and long-term social and economic mitigating measures, it is important to stay in solidarity and to not lose sight of the Agenda 2030 core principle of Leaving No One Behind.
