BRIDGE CRPD-SDGs First Module Francophone West Africa

From 2 to 8 November 2019, Niamey is playing host to the first Module of the Bridge CRPD-SDGs training initiative for the Francophone West Africa. This is organised by the West African Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (WAFOD), an ADF member, with the support of IDA and Humanity and Inclusion (HI) through the financial support of the European Union; DPOD, CBM, LFTW, Belgian Development Cooperation, DFAT and MOFA Finland. 

BRIDGE CRPD SDGs training initiative – Module 1 in Tanzania

The BRIDGE CRPD SDGs training initiative – Module 1, in Tanzania, was held in the city of Dar-es-Salaam from 22nd to 28th July 2019. This is organised by the Tanzania Federation of Disabled People’s Organizations (SHIVYAWATA), African Disability Forum (ADF), International Disability Alliance (IDA) and CBM with support from Inclusion International and World Network of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry; and financed by CBM through the National Lottery Community Fund and NAD (Norwegian Association of the Disabled).

Bridge CRPD-SDGs Module 3 on Article 11 of the CRPD

From 20-27 June 2019, Beirut, Lebanon, is hosting the first Bridge CRPD-SDGs Module 3 on the Article 11 of the CRPD.

This is the first ever global Bridge training on Art 11 of the CRPD, with the participation of DPO representatives and humanitarian actors, organised by the International Disability Alliance (IDA), the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and their members, in particular CBM; with support from the Arab Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (AOPD) and HI, and funded by Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD), CBM, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the Bridging the Gap Project. 

BRIDGE Training of Trainers Module A, Geneva 2019

The BRIDGE CRPD-SDGs Module A of its Training of Trainers 2019 is taking place in Geneva, from 8 to 15 March 2019, during the 21st session of the CRPD Committee. It will benefit 20 advocates with disabilities from French and Portuguese speaking from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, and Tunisia. Participants including people from underrepresented groups including people with albinism, hard of hearing and deaf people.

BRIDGE CRPD-SDGs in the MENA Region – Module 1

13 – 19 December 2018 | Past event

From 13-19 December, 2018, Cairo, Egypt is hosting the regional Bridge CRPD-SDGs training programme for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in Arabic. This is the first ever Bridge training initiative in this region and is being organised by the Arab Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (AOPD), with the support of the International Disability Alliance (IDA), the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and their members, in particular CBM and ADD International;  and funded by AOPD, CBM,  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland (MOFA), DRAF, and IDA-CBM-HI Project on the Inclusive Humanitarian Action for Persons with Disabilities.

From Thursday 15 to Wednesday 21 of November, Uganda is playing host to the second Module of the Bridge CRPD-SDGs training initiative. This is organised by the African Disability Forum (ADF), the National Union of Disabled Persons Uganda (NUDIPU) and the International Disability Alliance (IDA), with the support of the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and their members; and financed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the Big Lottery Fund and CBM.

BRIDGE Training of Trainers Module B, Brighton 2017

The International Disability Alliance and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC), with strong support from Disability Rights Advocacy Fund, SightSavers and CBM, are organising Module B of the Training of Trainers (ToT) in the framework of the BRIDGE CRPD-SDG Training Initiative. The training is supported by a catalyst program from the UK Department for International Development (DFID), as well as Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Government of Australia and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
