Disability Partnership Finland (formerly FIDIDA, Finnish Disabled People’s International Development Association) is a registered non-governmental organisation founded in 1989. It has nine member organisations, all disabled people’s organisations.
Disability Partnership Finland is a coordination and expert organisation in disability & development questions. Currently we have projects in 16 different countries in the Global South and a regional project in Central Asia. All projects are planned and implemented by our member DPOs in collaboration with their Southern partner DPOs.
We work mainly in Eastern and Southern Africa, but there are projects also in Latin America, Cambodia, Palestine and the Balkans. In Finland we organize trainings and provide tailored services to organisations who wish to include people with disabilities in their work. We do advocacy work with the aim of mainstreaming disability in Finland’s development policy and all development aid funded by Finland.
