In the framework of the Multi-stakeholder hearing on Universal Health Coverage, Dr. Alessandra Aresu, Co-chair of IDDC Inclusive Health Task Group and Inclusive Health Policy Lead, Humanity & Inclusion (Formerly Handicap International), was mandated by IDDC Inclusive Health TG to deliver a statement.
IDDC recommends in particular to:
- Improve the availability and use of gender, age and disability disaggregated data on health status and access to services;
- Promote data dissemination to ensure appropriate planning and policies for equitable access to health.
- Adapt and provide health services for persons with disabilities ensuring accessible and affordable services and, most importantly, meaningful participation of persons with disabilities.
