IDA and IDDC put together a policy paper on FfD to provide recommendations for the Outcome Document of the Third Conference on Financing for Development that will take place on 13-16 July 2015 in Addis Ababa.
Discrimination and exclusion faced by persons with disabilities worldwide is a human rights violation that necessitates action. In addition, there is evidence that the promotion of inclusive growth and development for persons with disabilities is beneficial from an economic standpoint. Hence, IDA and IDDC aim at influencing the outcome document at two levels: at the macroeconomic level by asking for systemic changes in the financial architecture that will be relevant to persons with disabilities, and at a more specific level by asking for explicit mentions of persons with disabilities in the areas of social protection, data and participation.
