Enough of well-intended rhetoric and objectives, urgent and comprehensive action is needed for disability inclusion in HIV response!
The International Aids Conference 2018 took place in Amsterdam from 23-27 July 2018 (https://www.aids2018.org/).
The Inclusive Health Task Group in partnership with other disability-focused organisations hosted a Disability Networking Zone at the Conference in order to share best practice on inclusive approaches, and advocate for an appropriate HIV/AIDs response.
So much more needs to be done to ensure that persons with disabilities are included in promotion, prevention, treatment and care for HIV/AIDs. SDG targets will not be met without a change from rhetoric to appropriate and rights based action.
Read the IDDC statement which calls for urgent and comprehensive efforts to end this neglect.
